Open-air Museum Forestry

The Open-Air Museum of Forestry is a living museum in nature. There are currently 84 stops on the more than four-kilometre "Forest Time Trail", which will offer you many views of the forest's life-giving capabilities with many interesting exhibits and, above all, natural forest habitats. However, you will certainly be interested in live images from the history, present and future of forestry.

A very impressive contribution to the museum is a set of natural works from the international group of artists Ekoart. It is accessible by car, bus, or by foot. The access by the Čiernohronská railway is an attractive way to get from Hronec or Čierny Balog to the “Vydrovo – Skanzen” stop. The educative nature trail of the Čierny Balog village, which begins in the the car park and ends at the Municipal Office, also leads to the open-air museum. After a day of walking in the open-air museum you can relax and refresh yourself in the restaurant close to the main car park.
